Isla's NurseryMy Husband and I recently welcomed our first child into the world. Over the next few weeks while I am taking a little bit of time enjoying being a new mom and loving on my new baby, I hope to share some personal posts. This one is about Isla's Nursery. Throughout my pregnancy everyone seemed to ask me about my nursery. I honestly had the vision for it before I was pregnant and knew what I wanted to do regardless if we had a boy or girl. My basic idea was black and white with pops of color. I am very blessed to have some extremely artistic and talented people in my life and many of the details came together thanks to them. The painting above the crib was made by my college roommate, she incorporated the pops of color I wanted to infuse in with all the black and white. The mobile my sister and I put together with origami her students made. Several of the blankets were made by my Mother. And quite a few of Isla's dresses were handmade by my great grandmother for my Mom and for me. My Mom saved them all these years for her future granddaughter. It's really special to have those one of a kind items. This has quickly become the favorite room in the house and you can often find all of us hanging out in there.
