Below the cliffs on a misty beach in California they said their vow's, surrounded by just a few close friends and family. There were so many personal touches to this day that flowed together and made this such a special event. Due to distance and pandemic many family members were unable to be present, but the sweet intimacy this created was truly so special. The officiant (a close friend) delivered a very personal message and charge to the couple as they start their life together. Daniel gave Sarah's daughter a necklace and made a promise to her as well. Everyone stayed together at the rental house where a friend and chef made the most amazing dinner that was served under the stars and tree lights. We all ate leftovers for the next few days and enjoyed the wedding cake with our morning coffee. Being a destination wedding, everything down to the napkins were brought in and every detail was well thought out. The wedding day was very laid back and little ones ran around and played together with cousins they had not been able to see in over a year. It was a beautiful start to this couples marriage.

Recently I got to photograph all the instructors. I have gotten to know all of them over the last 2 years and it was a fun shoot to be a part of. Most of them have multiple children, some have full time jobs, some take classes with us when they aren't teaching. But they all love what they do and love having a job they can bring their children with them. Kirsten Evan's is the owner and operator of Baby Boot Camp Orlando and she has a wealth of knowledge in fitness for Mom's pre and post pregnancy and can fill you in on all the details
Come check out a class, first class is always free and coming up May 7-12 is open house, you can come and take all the classes you want that week to try it out! Baby Boot Camp Orlando.

You may remember the fun Disney Boardwalk Maternity shoot (find it here) or their Gender Reveal shoot (find it here) back in 2016. Sebastian Monroe was born on Christmas day, welcomed by his parents and big brother Lincoln. A few days before their scheduled lifestyle newborn session Melissa expressed to me she just wanted me to photograph the boys. I gently suggested that she reconsider, I know the exhaustion that comes with having a toddler and a newborn in the house. But I also thought she might regret it later if she didn't have pictures of herself with her newborn. She is a LuLaRoe Consultant and I suggested she wear something comfy, leggings and a shirt she felt confident in. Its not always about the clothes you wear but how you feel in them that you project into the images. She told me I had her at "leggings" ;) I think their session turned out magical. Thanks for trusting me and letting me persuade you Melissa :)

We had everything all planned for their Maternity session and then hurricane Matthew happened and we had to find another beach location. Many of the coastal parks were and still are closed until further notice. We headed a little south to Sebastian Inlet State Park. The evening was very, very windy but with some beautiful skies. And I absolutely love how dreamy some of the images are.

When we received the softies my children were immediately taken with them. Isla carries around the "baa" (sheep) and you can often find Baa telling bedtime stories or helping us count sheep to go to sleep. Oliver loves to chew on his lion's tail and mane and I love knowing they were handmade, not something churned out in a factory and with organic materials. These aren't just stuffed animals, once you see them and touch them you can see all of the intricate details and care that goes into making them. These are heirlooms that one day will be passed on my children's children. They make all kinds of animals, lovie's, rattles, blankets and more. Please go and have a look at the Bebemoss website and see all the truly magical softies they have available.
You can receive one of your very own Bebemoss black sheep by entering the giveaway on my instagram.

The thing that stands out above all else with this wedding is the way David looks at his Bride. The day didn't go quite as planned when a Florida storm rolled in and forced the decision to move the ceremony from Kraft Azalea Garden to Ceviche where the reception was being held. But the way things went, you would never have known. The room was lit by candle light as the two said their vows under the chuppah, it felt very intimate, even with a large gathering. You could tell how close Jennifer and David are with their families, from the speeches that made you feel like you knew them, to the surprise birthday cake for the Brides twin sisters. It was a true celebration, lots of dancing, laughing and even a fun moment of pinching the Brides parents cheeks in celebration of marrying off their last child. I will always remember the way I felt as the evening came to an end, the joy, love and friendship that surround the couple that evening.

This beautiful styled shoot was put together by Melissa Creates. The bright open space of Orange Studio was a perfect setting for this colorful and bright shoot. The music was going and the morning light danced through the open doors as everyone worked together to style all of the elements. Chatting about life, babies, local restaurants and cake :) The food smelled amazing, the cakes (that we got to taste later) were beautiful, the hand lettered sign, name cards and hand dyed napkins were the perfect touches to this display. The talent these ladies have is just inspiring.
I really enjoy being a part of styled shoots, it allows me to get to know other local creatives and to actually spend some time talking with them. During a wedding day I rarely spend any length of time talking with the other vendors because the day moves so quickly. But this was nice and laid back and I loved being a part of it. Be sure to check out the other girls blogs and social media to see what they are up to. I'm always getting new recipe's from them and ideas for entertaining.

My theme for the party was black and white with pops of color. We had her black and white reading tent set up with little pinata's spelling out her name from Katie Franklin draped across the tent. I took images from my phone from Isla's first year and created a poster from Social Print Studio to show off all those adorable baby pics. Many of our friends had children within the last few years so there were lots of little ones running and crawling around. We had perfect weather for an outdoor party and it went by way too quickly.
I made Isla's cake and used gum paste to make the "one" to go on the top. (tutorial here) She was very dainty about her cake smash, dipping her fingers in the icing but never getting to the cake part. It was a wonderful first birthday and we are blessed with so many friends and family that came to celebrate with us.
I'm excited to give you the opportunity to win the large heart pinata you see in the pictures. Katie makes each pinata by hand and the full size pinata's are filled with matching confetti. Her pinatas have been featured on Oh Joy!, 100 Layer Cake and Cake-let, Southern Weddings and Brides.com. You can check out her etsy page here. https://www.etsy.com/shop/KatieKFranklin

Megan & Luke were married on December 11th at Walt Disney World. And just like their love story this day was filled with romance, from her beautiful wedding gown by Anne Barge, to the rose covered dinner table. Small personal touches placed throughout the day were a reminder of Megan's Father and Luke's Mother who have passed away. Luke wore Megan's Fathers cuff links and Megan had a charm with a picture of her father on her bouquet and Luke a picture of his Mother on his boutineer. Megan started off the day getting ready at the Waldorf Astoria and the morning was filled with laughter and a few tears. Their first look was done under a gorgeous blue sky and their joy and excitement had us all smiling. After their vows we went to the Boardwalk for portraits before heading to Blue Zoo at the Swan and Dolphin hotel for their reception. With this being a destination wedding their wedding and reception was an intimate affair. One long table adorned with roses and candles welcomed their guests. They entered their reception hand in hand and went straight into their first dance. After cutting their cake, he danced with her Mother and she danced with his Father. It was a beautiful day filled with love, hope and excitement of a new chapter in their lives. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Snowdowne, wishing you both a life time of happily ever after!

As you can tell from their story these two are very much romantics and we planned their session with that in mind. We started an early morning at Rollins college with the beautiful architecture and soft glow of the sunrise as our backdrop. Afterwards we made our way over to Park Avenue in Winter Park to enjoy one of their favorite treats at Peterbrooke Chocolatier. Looking forward to hearing all about the next chapter in their story.

Tell us a little bit about what you do: For me it is incredibly fun and rewarding to work with a couple to make their floral vision come to life. I spend time getting to know them so I can capture their personalities in their wedding flowers. To me it doesn't work without that personal element. I provide all floral decor for ceremony and reception needs, and also have an inventory of candle holders and specialty containers for rent. I really pride myself in creating gorgeous designs for affordable prices, and enjoy giving special attention to every detail, from artistic bouquet wraps to distinctive designs for each corsage and boutonniere.
How long have you been a florist? I've always arranged flowers from my garden just for personal enjoyment, but two years ago I decided I wanted to learn the fundamentals of design, so I began researching techniques on my own. I then enrolled in a professional florist course at Cass School of Floral Design in the Boston area while simultaneously taking an apprenticeship at a leading studio in Providence, RI. It was at Studio 539 Flowers studying under Christina Chandler that I quickly learned 1) the demands of the industry! and 2) just how exciting and inspirational floral design can be. All of these experiences reinforced what I had suspected. I had found a creative avenue that I was passionate about and that could challenge me. I am continuously learning and implementing new design concepts for my couples.
When did you start Cloud 9? Spring 2013
Where are you located? My studio and consultation space are within FairWater Florist located on the corner of W. Fairbanks and Adanson, right next door to The Mediterranean Deli (best falafel sandwich ever). In December 2012, Robert, the owner of FairWater, hired me to design part time as well as to take over the wedding department. A few months later I decided to focus wholeheartedly on wedding design and established Cloud 9.
Where are you from? I was born in CT, but moved south when I was about 3 months old, so I am a true Southerner at heart. I grew up in SC and GA, and as an adult I've had the pleasure of living in a number of states, LA, MA, IA and RI all before moving to FL. (I know now that I took for granted the amazing peonies that could be grown in Iowa's "black gold"!)
What brought you to Orlando? My husband applied for a job at EA Sports. He had another offer on the table that could have taken us to Toronto, but living closer to family AND the warmer climate won out. Thank goodness!
What are your favorite flowers? To me elements of movement, texture and fragrance are essential when choosing flowers for a bouquet. There is something about the elegant bend of a Lisianthus stem that brings amazing movement to a bouquet. It's really indescribable. You just have to see it. Veronica is another favorite of mine for movement. Textural choices include silver brunia, astilbe and seeded eucalyptus. Some of my favorite rose choices for fantastic fragrance would be Osiana (peach), Hot Lady (hot pink) and Majolika spray roses (variety of colors). Stock has a heavenly scent as does freesia.
Describe your favorite bridal bouquet you have created? One of my favorite bouquets I've created has to be for an outdoor wedding held at The Acre. It was a free formed bouquet with a light pink and baby blue color palette. I used light blue hybrid delphinium, cream stock, light pink titanic roses that smelled amazing!!! silver brunia and dusty miller. Feathery, lacy touches were added by using white and pink astilbe, light pink heather and white limonium. The bride provided a swatch of embellished lace taken from her Aunt's wedding gown to wrap the stems. It was so natural and feminine!
Whats your favorite color? If I can only choose one it would be coral.
What can you be found doing if you aren't arranging flowers? After a long day at the studio I'm generally camped out in front of the tv with my husband watching Netflix. Some things I want to find more time and energy for: continuing guitar lessons, finishing that knitting project I started LAST winter, and getting back into yoga.
Dog or cat person? We have three "children" - 1 delightful cat and 2 rambunctious dogs, but I love them all
What is a favorite childhood memory? During summer evenings in South Carolina I would spend time with my mom in her vegetable garden. There was something very peaceful about that.
What inspires you? So many things...music, art, interior design, nature, the beginning of Spring, a perfect weather day (which in my case would be 77F, sunny and breezy), the challenge of thinking outside the box, and without a doubt the fun ideas that couples bring to the consultation table!

Hello little brother!
Hope you enjoy a few of the pictures from Seoul.
To catch up on the rest of our trip. Japan Part 1 Japan Part 2 Japan Part 3
If you are interested in a session with Rachel V Photography please visit our website at www.rachelvphotography.com for more information.
One of the interesting things about Japan is that there are drink vending machines everywhere and I mean everywhere, on almost every street corner. You will never go thrirsty in Japan. We looked up the statistics and I believe the ratio is 1 vending machine per every 22 people in Japan....that's a lot of vending machines. Also at the very bottom check out some of our favorite snack finds. My husband couldn't get enough of the pure gummy candies and I had a habit of buying a Crunky bar every day (like a crunch bar but more crispy rice)
To catch up on the first part of our trip, check out Japan Part 1
Background: My little sister Sarah moved to Japan last September to teach at a University in Beppu. As soon as she announced she was going Stephen and I started planning a trip to visit her. We picked February because it was during Sarah's break and she could travel with us. It ended up being very cold for these Floridians, but we had a great time. Sarah met us in Tokyo and we spent a few days exploring Tokyo before traveling to Beppu where she lives and then Seoul, South Korea. Paul a good friend of mine from College lives in Japan as well and met us all in Tokyo, Paul happens to be fluent in Japanese, which really helped, especially when ordering food.
It was really hard to narrow it down but here are a few of my favorite photos from Tokyo. Check back soon for more pictures from our trip :)
First morning in Tokyo we got up super early and went to the Fish Market. I don't like seafood, but Stephen and Sarah enjoyed a fresh Sushi breakfast.
And in case you were wondering....This was our room, it was actually 3 beds across, on the floor, no heat...It was quite warm under the covers once your body heat warmed it up for a few minutes. Note to self, check to make sure places have heat.

I have gotten to photograph several sets of sisters in the last few weeks. Including these little loves, Izzy and Gabby. I met them a few years ago and have gotten to see them grow, Izzy is now 6 and Gabby is 4. Both girls take ballet and happily showed me some of their moves. This shoot is a surprise for their Daddy and I hear that so far they haven't told him! Such sweet girls!

The classes were held at the Orlando Ballet Studios and the moment I walked in I felt at home. The soft light pouring through the windows, the unmistakable smell of a studio, the shuffle of ballet shoes on the floor. It really made me want to put on my tights and leotard.
Here are a few of my favorite shots from the weekend. I decided to do all black and white because I personally love the way it looks and how it takes away the distractions and focuses on the movement.

* Baby Plan is 4 photo shoots: Newborn, 3-4 months, 6-7 months and 1 year cake smash. Email me at [email protected] to learn more about the special rate for the Baby Plan.
At the beginning of a new year we anticipate all the new year has to offer and set resolutions to better ourselves. Its also a great time to set resolutions for your business and to think about the little things that can help kick it up a notch. Jeff Clark a local Central Florida Realtor called me up to get some new head shots taken, it had been a few years and he was ready for something new. One of his area's is Baldwin Park, after discussing the look and feel we were going for in his new pictures we decided that would be a great place to shoot. It was a delicious foggy morning (can I say delicious when referring to weather?) Not too hot and some beautiful soft lighting. In no time we had some great shots and wrapped it up. Here are a few of my favorite. But which one did he choose? Guess you will have to check out his website to find out :) http://jeffclarkcentralflorida.com/

Had to include this picture I took, love the delicate web, dew and the foggy background
"The world is a book and those that do not travel read only one page" - St. Augustine
It is no secret that I love to travel. Like LOVE to travel. I enjoy the whole thing, deciding, planning, packing, flying, customs, arriving, exploring, tasting, seeing. It makes me feel alive in a way thats hard to explain. While I love being home there is just something about exploring another place that is unfamiliar to you and especially a culture that is completely foreign to my way to life.
I think it all started when I was 4, my parents used to take tours to Israel and made the mistake of asking a 4 year old where she wanted to be baptised. My answer "in the Jordan River where Jesus was", my parents thought "great this child will be 20 before that happens". But later that year my Dad baptised me in the Jordan River :) I went back to Israel with my family twice more when I was 6 and 11. Then it was 7 years until we went to Europe as a family. I remember vividly green country side rolling by on the train from London to France and thinking "I want to see more, I love this". This spark also caught my sister and between us both we have been to 5 Continents and 28 Countries. We have backpacked our way through Central America, Australia and Asia, Snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef, Hiked the Great Wall of China, Skydived out of a pink Airplane in New Zealand, hiked a volcano in the dark in flip flops in Costa Rica, been volcano sledding in Nicaragua, slept in the back of a van for 2 weeks and eaten PB&J for every meal for weeks to save money. The experiences are worth more than anything I could put a price tag on. And after every trip it only leaves me wanting to see something new.
Now this brings me to my husband...He was born in Italy (his parents were in the Navy) but returned to the States when he was 3 months old. He didn't even have a passport when we met, but since we have been married he has been to Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas. But we are leaving for a trip to Japan and South Korea this week. He will never be the same! I cannot wait to share this experience with him! And the best part and reason for the trip? My sister moved to Japan in September and we are going to see her and she is going to travel with us the whole time :) can't wait to see her!

Chasing the birds with Uncle Stephen
We spent the next 4 days waking up early, making our way through the chilly morning (much colder than Florida) grabbing our coffee and hearing some great fellow photographers speak on a number of subjects.
Some of my favorites were:
Art and Emotion of Newborn Photography- Julia Kelleher I could have listened to her all day, she was an engaging speaker and the things she shared were great.
Photographing Children, Mastering the connection - Audrey Woulard Very informative and gave great examples on connecting with different ages.
Creatively Lighting every part of the wedding day - Dave & Quinn Cheung They are a delightful husband and wife team. Not only did they share some of their amazing images they shared the shots that didn't work out when they were experimenting.
How to shoot the perfect wedding every time - Ed Pingol Oh my word was this guy entertaining! His class went by so fast and I was furiously taking notes!
At the conference there is also a Tradeshow where you can see all the latest products and equipment. I spent plenty of time at Canon testing out lenses I eventually want to purchase :)
It was also a great time of networking, I ran into several photographers I know from Florida and North Carolina and got to spend time sharing and catching up.
Now that I am back home I am processing all the information, typing out my notes and excited for all I learned! It's so important with any job that you are always learning and growing. Being a photographer I spend the majority of my time by myself with my imac, it was so nice to be around others in the same field and share so that we can all become better at what we do!

"Taking a break between classes"
One night I pulled out my camera and was experimenting with the reflection of the city lights from our hotel room.
The closing party was at the Georgia Aquarium, we had full access to the whole Aquarium. So much fun! I love aquariums.
(my Dog was not thrilled with all the packaging that took over her nap space)
Baby Q
And what is sweeter than a new baby? This is my friend Alison's nephew and she let me tag along to his newborn shoot. He was born Christmas eve and was just 11 days old when we got to photograph him. And I also spent plenty of time cuddling him :) Just had to share a few of his precious photos.
The central theme throughout their wedding was Golf (The flower girl dropped golf tees down the aisle) Their ceremony was held on a beautiful and clear day, the bright blue sky couldn't have made for a prettier backdrop as they said their vows. Loved being a small part of their big day.
Where I got my sense of style, creativity and the ability to stand up for myself.
Where I got my sense of humor, love of coffee, burnt peanuts and blue cheese from :)
Fall is also when everyone starts thinking about their holiday cards and I have been busy photographing so many sweet families throughout October and November. It's been so much fun to see some familiar little faces and to meet new ones. Here are just a few of some of the wonderful families I've gotten to photograph this season. Happy Fall!
I got to share in some of our friends big day this last weekend (gorgeous wedding!) and as I watched the bride and groom share their first dance together and I saw the 15+people with their cameras surrounding the dance floor, it got me thinking. I completely understand why friends and relatives have camera's and phones raised at all the special moments during the day, but I thought I would share a few reasons to put the camera down for a few minutes and and join in the fun.
1. You may miss out on an important moment because you are preoccupied. Ive done it, so focused on why I didn't get a shot the way I wanted it and I look up and the moment is over :(
2. Your photography may interfere with the professional pictures. The professionals are trained and focused to capture those moments, but we occasionally miss them due to someone stepping in front of us or perhaps a random limb jutting out into the aisle. You may not know it but your camera emits a red or green light to focus on your subject, this can be seen and is often in photographers photos. Your pop up flash may over expose the professionals settings.
3. People are compelled to look at the camera but if there are multiple cameras no one looks at the same one at the same time. This is especially true during family and formal portraits. When I have a crowd of family and friends behind me taking the same shot I always have eyes looking off in strange directions.
4. The thing I hear most from brides is that they want me to capture the emotion of the day. It is impossible to capture emotions when we cannot see your face. You very well may be in the professional photos, but we don't see your smiling face, we see a body with a camera or phone.
5. The more you distract during formal's and portraits the less time the Bride and Groom have to enjoy the celebration with you and who doesn't want to join to jump in and enjoy all the hard work they have put into their day.
6. And most importantly, you are there to Celebrate!. Help the Photographers get awesome photos as you are totally engaged in the wedding festivities. Laugh, Cry, Dance and share in the happiest day of your friends lives!
Enjoying a recent wedding with my Love. One and only picture of the night.
Just a few examples below. I know many photographers have LOTS of similar images of me in photos :)
Caught my mom and sister at a recent wedding :) the rest of the images i have of them they are dancing and having fun.
Only one set of eye's looking at me.

Katie and her Dad have a close relationship and he hadn't seen her in her wedding dress so I suggested a first look with Dad. It was so sweet and emotional. If you have a close relationship with your Dad this is a nice thing to add into your day. I did a first look with dad on my wedding day as well and while I messed up my make up a little bit it was a sweet moment Ill never forget.
Location: Sarah P. Duke Gardens
Florist: Greg Warren Flowers (the florist I used for my wedding, he is fantastic)
Makeup: S.Davis Makeup Artistry
DJ: All around Raleigh DJ Company
Cake: Vegan cake made by the groom's brother
And of course I had to get a picture with the Bride and Groom!
we came across a little frog and Katie let me borrow her ring really quick.
My sister was gracious enough to come with me and help me with my lighting. I couldn't have done it without her.
Sarah and Fant got married at Grace Lutheran Church in Winter Haven, Florida. Their 7pm ceremony was followed by a beautiful reception at the Lake Region Yacht and Country Club. Sarah incorporated so many beautiful details into her wedding day, lots of family pictures, an embroidered handkerchief her flowers were beautiful and an amazing 5 tier chocolate cake. I have enjoyed getting to know Sarah through this whole process and wish the new Mr. & Mrs. Camak a life full of happiness as they settle into married life in South Carolina.

This weekend I had the opportunity to photograph Elizabeth and Brian, they are getting married next month. We met in downtown Sanford nice and early just after the sun came up, and while I am not a morning person I love morning light so its great motivation to get me out of bed. It was a perfect morning and not too many people were out and about yet. We started off by the lake and then moved towards the downtown area, there were so many interesting shops, doorways and textures. We had so much fun and the chemistry between these two was amazing, the way they look at each other just made my heart melt. I am so looking forward to their wedding!
My sister in law went all out on this party, she had so many cute ideas that came together very cohesively. The theme was "the ants go marching one by one". Even though its mid summer and super hot in Georgia I don't think about that when I look at these pictures. Maybe I should have her style a shoot for me.
Happy Birthday Eli, Auntie Rachel loves you!
I made it into a picture!
All I said was "what ever you do, don't smile"

Historic Dubsdread, Orlando, Florida
I love weddings, in fact I tear up at every single one! Doesn't matter how well I know the couple, when I second shoot for another photographer sometimes I meet the couple a few hours before the ceremony. But there is always something that gets me emotional, it can be the way the father looks at his daughter when he sees her in her wedding dress for the first time, The mother of the groom as she pats her son's arm when he walks her to her seat, or the way a man's eyes light up as his bride walks down the aisle.
Last weekend I got to photograph Jessica and Frank's wedding at historic Dubsdread Golf Course in Orlando, Florida. Even though we are mid summer here and it rains most every day, it was a gorgeous and clear day. Jessica really put a lot of thought into all the details of her wedding day. From a broach bouquet to a sign that said "Uncle Frank here comes your girl" Such a beautiful location and a fun couple!
Paparazzi :)
I am the photographer for Kindermusik at Grow and Sing Studios (check them out on Facebook too) They are having a busy summer of fun classes and day camps. On Saturday they had one of their Summer Free Plays and I went to photograph all the little cuties in their Red, White and Blue. Many were very excited about the flags :) So cute! Have a Happy and safe 4th of July!

Sarah's 3 year old shoot was at Leu Gardens in Winter Park, it was a beautiful morning and she was full of energy. There was a wedding that morning in the gardens but we found so many beautiful tucked away spots to take pictures. She is such a little sweetheart and has the cutest red pigtails!
For Garrett's one year old shoot we met in downtown Celebration in Kissimmee. He was enthralled by the water fountains and practically raced towards the water every chance he got. He was wearing the most ADORABLE little suit and has some wonderful blue eyes.
I'm Loving the vibrant colors of summer, always looking for beautiful new spots to photograph at, let me know if you have a favorite spot in the Orlando area.

I wanted to share with you a fun Fathers day gift idea, great for Dad's or Grandfathers. I photographed these two sweet and energetic boys and promised not to post pictures till Fathers Day. Such a fun idea and I think it would be neat to do these pictures every year as they grow up.
Have a great Day celebrating the men in your life!

It's always nice to get away for a few days and as a photographer it really helps revive your creativity by being somewhere visually different. A friend loaned me some specialty lenses, Tilt shift, Ultra Wide and a Fish eye, and let me tell you those suckers are heavy! So I took just one with me each day and committed to what ever it was. We walked until our feet hurt, tried lots of yummy food, visited friends, celebrated my 31st Birthday and enjoyed just being together. I Love the energy of big cities, if you have never been to NYC I would highly recommend it.
What a year! Nothing crazy happened just life, but what an amazing one I have. My Mr. and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary in Victoria, Canada, My brother and sister in law had my nephew, my sister graduated with 2(!) Masters, My parents, siblings/families all celebrated Christmas together for the first time in 4 years, I marked off country 26 (I've been to), I got to meet and work with many wonderful people in Orlando & Central Florida, my business is growing and I LOVE what I do.
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from my 367 project, to view them all go to http://rachelvphotography.com/365
Day 98. I had no idea how loud my camera would sound in the Library, I just found a random aisle with no one around, I only took two shoots because the timer was sooooo loud!
Day 99. I always greet him at the door when he gets home from work. This day I just told him to call me when he got home, I had everything all set up and captured our "welcome home." He is truly wonderful and accommodating with all my picture taking.
Day 183. We were in Canada celebrating our 1st anniversary and we took a tour of Butchart gardens. A remote for my camera has been a wonderful investment! I think one of the things I love about this picture is we are all bundled up, we dont get to do that very often in the Sunshine State.
Day 190. I was on my way to a photo shoot and had a little extra time. I was passing all these orange groves and had to stop and take a picture. I didn't have a tripod, so just set the camera on the ground.
Day 262. I love the lighting in the morning coming from my kitchen window, I was still in my pj's but had to take a picture. I love how my eye is peaking out at the top corner.
Day 290. I would normally advice against taking an up the nose shot, but I wanted to capture the flowers on the tree. Spring is a fleeting thing in Central Florida (literally seems like only a few days) It was a rainy day, but love the mood it evokes.
Day 310. I had this picture in mind for a long time. I had picked up some color papers from the paint section at a Lowe's a while back and ended up using a single hole punch to make confetti with them. Once I had everything ready I knew I didn't want to have to pick all these up and try it over and over. So I set everything up, checked lighting and set the camera to take 10 shots in a row and prayed. It worked :) and I promptly vacuumed everything up, but I occasionally find a random piece.
These are just a few that I like/have a fond memory of. There are so many more! Which one is your favorite? Have you done a similar project?
Maybe Ill do another project like this in the future, but for now I'm taking a break.

Yesterday I said goodbye to my very first car. A bright blue 1997 Mazda Protege. "Blue" (as my family refers to her) Was purchased in 1998 when I was 17. Blue is the car I drove away to college in, the car I took when I moved to DC for my first job, the car my husband and I drove from FL to NC after our wedding with the words "just married" written across the back window.
So many memories from the last 14 years. Its like my dad has said "the longer I have a car the more I like it." She has been a great car, so I decided to go with Mazda again.
Mr. V and I went to Cory Fairbanks Mazda in Orlando, yesterday and picked up my new Mazda. A few tears were shed for blue (I also cried 3 weeks before when we went car shopping) but I am very excited about my new car and the new adventures that await us.

.Morning light is my favorite (though I am in no way a morning person and rarely see mentioned best lighting)
.A wireless remote has been the best investment
.My dog somehow found her way in the background of so many of the pictures
.My Mr. is a good sport when I ask him to pose for pictures
.My Neighbors probably wonder what in the world I'm doing out in the neighborhood with my tripod and remote
.Some times the best shots are the ones you don't even expect to turn out.
.I have to take 10-20 shots of one thing till I get one I Like or is.
.Its a leap year...which means its really a 366 day project!
