As a photographer sometimes I struggle with taking pictures of my own children. Not that I don't want to but often I snap something on my iphone because its so in the moment and its a lot lighter to carry around than my Canon. I do make albums through Chatbooks of my iphone photos because I want my children to have a tangible copy of their childhood they can look through. But I want more than just my often blurry iphone pictures to document their growing up. I usually have my camera sitting out but in the hustle of the day to day I don't always do anything with it. The other morning as Oliver was still sleeping in my bed, the rare cool Florida air was coming through the window and the dust was dancing in the morning light. I went to grab my camera. Then throughout the morning I took a few photos, no posing or directing just capturing the morning and I have been obsessed with these pictures ever since. (especially her in her sunnies, she did that on her own and it is now the screen saver on my phone :) They captured what I see every day so perfectly what I want so badly not to ever forget. Their tiny sleeping faces, messy hair and sweet smiles.
