It is always an honor to be asked to document such special moments in peoples lives. I get to witness people getting married, celebrating their children's milestones, hours to days old newborns and many other special times. When my friend Kristina of Love & Zest found out she was expecting she asked if I would photograph her son's birth. Birth photography is not something I currently offer but I was thrilled to be there for such a special moment. A few days after her due date I received a few text's in the middle of the night that she was at the hospital. I went over when things had progressed a bit but things had slowed down and she wanted to rest. Since I don't live too far from the hospital they decided to contact me when things looked close. At 8:00 that night I got the text it was going to be soon so I headed over to Florida Hospital South and arrived just as she started pushing. The only birth I have ever attended is my own daughters so I have very limited knowledge on the full range of experiences. But after only 20-30 minutes of pushing he arrived. The look of sheer joy on both Kristina and Eric's face made me instantly start crying. To be able to witness first time parents joy in meeting their son was beyond emotional. Thank you Kristina and Eric for trusting me with this very personal and emotional moment in your lives.
